When departing from an airport there are always a few questions that come up. We have listed a few answers about Portland International Jetport.

Parking at Portland Jetport

Portland Jetport provides both surface lots and parking garage options as well as short term per hour or long term options when parking here.

The Blue Lot Parking Garage is located only steps away from the passenger terminal and it houses the short term parking option as well as long term parking options. The Green and Blue Surface lots are also located within a few minutes’ walk from the terminal while the Pink lot is located further away offering an economy option and a complimentary shuttle transfer between the lot and the jetport’s terminal.

Transfers at Portland Jetport

Traveler Drop Off – It is allowed to stop the vehicle on curbside to unload the traveler and their luggage, but it is not allowed to park there. For companions that want to accompany the traveler to the security control the Hourly parking in the Blue Lot Garage is free of charge for the first 30 minutes.

Rental Cars – To return a rented vehicle at the airport, please follow the instructions given by the rental car company in question. All rental car companies at Portland Jetport have their desks in the consolidated car rental area located in the Blue Lot Garage.

Public Transport Buses – A public bus stop for Route #5, provided by METRO, is located outside the terminal. The route operates between downtown Portland and the Maine Mall area in South Portland and it also stops at Portland Transportation Center. More about public buses at Portland Jetport.

Taxis – Taxis will drop off their customers outside the terminal’s departures area. More information about taxis to and from Portland Jetport.

Hotel Shuttles – Some hotels in Portland provide a shuttle transfer service for their guests’ convenient transfer between the hotel and the jetport. These are organized by the hotels upon the traveler’s request. Some hotels offer it free of charge while others apply an additional charge to the service.

Ride Shares – Ride Share companies will drop off their customer’s outside the departures area of the jetport.

Limousines, Private Cars, Vans and Coaches – Other means of transfer are available through a variety of companies. These transfers include limousines, private cars, coaches and vans organized by the various companies themselves.

Trains – The closest train station is located at Portland Transportation Center and it serves Amtrak Downeaster. Bus Route #5 stops there on its way from downtown Portland to the jetport and the Maine Mall area.

Smoking at Portland Jetport

Smoking at the jetport is only allowed in the designated smoking areas outside the terminal. Once the terminal has been entered there are no smoking facilities available.

ATMs at Portland Jetport

ATMs/cash machines are located in the Ticketing area as well as near Gate 6 on airside, and in the Baggage Claim area.

Currency Exchange at Portland Jetport

Old Port Currency Exchange offers their services in the Ticketing area, on Level 1, close to the escalator.

Luggage Carts at Portland Jetport

Luggage Carts are available at the Curbside Ticketing area as well as in the Baggage Claim area. Charges may apply.

Visitor Information Booth at Portland Jetport

An Information Desk for visitors are located in the Baggage Claim area. It is open from 12 pm to 12 am every day.

Lactation Room at Portland Jetport

The jetport provides a lactation room located between Gates 5 and 6 on airside.

Terminal Opening Hours at Portland Jetport

The jetport never closes, but the opening hours for the establishments and services available at the jetport vary and all will be closed during nights when there are no scheduled flights.

Food and Beverage at Portland Jetport

Several establishments offer food and beverage at the jetport. They are located on airside, the secure side, of the jetport in the gate areas.

Shopping at Portland Jetport

A few establishments selling news and gifts are located on airside near gates 3, 6 and 9.
